Hi There!

I’m Dorian

I help women with full lives embrace the simple side of nutrition and confidently plan meals and grocery store trips while coaching them on easy meal-prep strategies.

My Story

How I think about food is rooted in my childhood. I remember seeing food as a pleasure and love, something to look forward to and get excited about. Food was never restricted in my household or deemed “good” or “bad”; I can thank my parents for that. I remember having a freezer full of popsicles and ice cream in the summer and a square meal at every dinner time. The weekends were for Chinese food on Friday, pizza on Saturday, and Sunday was for a good soulful meal of chicken, greens, pinto beans, and cornbread. I was blessed to live in a household with a garden. My father grew tomatoes, peppers, peas, and cucumbers. I remember them sitting on the windowsill to ripen.

You can say that I had true food freedom growing up. Unfortunately, our society is bombarded with information and images that constantly tell us what is healthy and what is not, as if it were that simple. The information often conflicts and leaves consumers confused. The truth is that a healthy diet varies from person to person, and there are a number of factors that determine what the right foods are for an individual.

Because of the misinformation, I have dedicated my practice to helping the public understand the science of nutrition so that they can make informed decisions about what is best to eat for them and their families. In particular, I help mid-life women embrace good nutrition by starting where they are, discovering new things, and incorporating new nutrition habits.

My Philosophy

  • Food should feed your mind, body and soul. Yes. Vitamins,  minerals and macros are important but so is the feeling you get and the memories and come to mind when you take a bite of your mom’s famous homemade dessert.
  • There is more than one way to be healthy. What worked for your friend may be healthy for her, but you might need to go a different route, and that is OKAY!
  • A nutritious diet is built one meal (or snack) at a time. Take advantage of all those meals and snacks! Feel free to explore, and I bet you will add more food than you take away.
